Lupita, quien cursa su doctorado, comparte cómo trabaja en CCATE con estudiantes de preparatoria —muchos de familias latinas— que están aprendiendo y recuperando el español. La pieza también incluye a un profesor de la Universidad de Pennsylvania, a Pan American Academy Charter School y al Bomba y Plena Cultural Center de Filadelfia.

The “No Sabo Kid” segment asks how closely language and culture are tied for U.S.-born and raised Latino young people, many of whom speak mainly English. Lupita, who is pursuing her doctorate, talks about her work at CCATE with high school students — many from Latino families — who are learning and reclaiming Spanish. The story also features a University of Pennsylvania professor, Pan American Academy Charter School and Philadelphia’s Bomba y Plena Cultural Center.
