Affiliation: Rising senior double majoring in Biology and Spanish at Villanova University.

Team that you’re working with in CCATE: As a summer intern with CCATE, I have been working primarily with the Programs/Administration Team and the Communications/Outreach Team.

Favorite thing you’ve accomplished thus far with CCATE: So far, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at CCATE and have learned several new skills such as website development and preparing interviews. I am currently working with Obed on the summer camp podcast with the theme of immigration policy reform and I am very excited to see the end result.

A fun fact about you: I am a cheerleader on the coed team at Villanova University.

Favorite thing that you’ve accomplished thus far with CCATE: I’m currently working on finding like-minded organizations and making connections with them. It’s been really exciting to find so many organizations across the country with similar mission statements and visions and to think about potential avenues for collaboration!

Goal for the Summer: I really hope to enter into conversation with a few different organizations and use that guidance to sketch a picture for the future of research at CCATE.

A fun fact about you: I’ve been skydiving but I’ve never been on a rollercoaster (strange).

Favorite thing you’ve accomplished thus far at CCATE: My favorite thing I’ve done at CCATE is doing homework with them and reading with them when we were able to see them in person at the beginning of the year. It’s so fun getting to know them, especially the younger ones.


Goal for the Summer: My goal for the summer is to be able to be there for CCATE and help them do the background stuff that no one sees especially now that everyone is virtual and they are doing their best to be there for their students it’s nice to be able to help them with things that need to be done to keep the program. It was also my goal to see how a non-profit works which I have been able to do.


A fun fact about you: A fun fact about me is that I love giraffes!!

Favorite thing that you’ve accomplished thus far with CCATE: Being a part of the summer camp and leading students in an Art as Activism workshop, also looking into Participatory Action Research and finding out more about health and sexual education

Goal for the Summer: getting closer to the members of CCATE and being able to contribute as much as I can to the mission of community empowerment and care which drives the organization

A fun fact about you: I enjoy skateboarding tremendously and even though I am quite uncoordinated, I have thus far succeeded in not landing on my face when I fall.
